Graduate of the French engineering school, CESI in Bordeaux, Olivier Britz, 50 years old, joined Safran in 2004. Olivier started his career as Project Leader then Team Leader in the Industrial Methods division at the Tarnos-based plant in the south west of France.

Four years later, he was promoted to Parts Repair Shop Director leading a team of 105 people, corresponding to 170,000 man hours per year (including sub-contractors), 80 different industrial machines and over 1,000 different part numbers.

In 2014, Olivier’s career turned towards the technical support division when he became Service Engineer for helicopter operators based in Africa, the Middle East and Switzerland. He pursued his career two years later as Technical Support Director for the UK Ministry of Defence, exclusively for the support of the British military RTM322 fleet that power their Merlin and Apache helicopters.

In 2016, Olivier is Head of Operator Technical Support, managing an international team of engineers who provide technical support to all of Safran Helicopter Engines customers worldwide. Since 2025 Olivier is leading the biggest SafranHE contract looking after French MOD for helicopter engines.

As a former professional rugby player, Olivier strongly believes that commitment and transparency are the two key values when working as a team and providing support to customers all over the world.
