Born in Reims in 1969, Lieutenant General Yannick Cailliez graduated from ENSTA Paris.

He began in career at the Armament General Directorate (DGA), France’s Defense procurement agency, at the Gramat research center, before taking on several responsibilities in nuclear and missile programs, notably on the M51 ballistic missile,

the ASMPA program and the VESTA operation. He then held financial management responsibilities before leading activities related to unmanned aerial systems and the European MALE drone program.

After serving in the French Air Force Staff, he became Chief of Staff to the DGA, then Special Adviser for the Australian submarine program, with a posting in Canberra.

Upon returning to France, he joined the DMAé as Deputy Director of Operations.

Since September 2024, he has been Director of the SIAé.

Yannick Cailliez is an Officer of the Legion of Honor and of the National Order of Merit.
