Principal Armament Engineer Christophe Raymond is a Defence Expert at the Nouvelle-Aquitaine Regional Council, where he is seconded by the French Directorate General of Armaments (DGA). A graduate of both ENSAM and SUPELEC and holder of a Master’s degree in Mathematics, he began his military career at the French Directorate of Military Intelligence as head of the CF3I Image Expertise section, where he notably rewrote Ministry of the Armed Forces doctrines for the use of infrared and radar imagery. He completed two Barkhane deployments leading a detached airborne intelligence unit. From 2019 to 2024 at the DGA, he served as architect for counter-UAS programmes (PARADE, ARLAD, BASSALT, MILAD, KILAD, etc.) and for ROIM coherence, from requirements definition through equipment acceptance. As deputy head of the Île-de-France Nord sector within the SPQI, he deployed assessment methods for companies in the French Defence Technological and Industrial Base and implemented the service’s first use of artificial intelligence for data analysis.
